Depart the USA November 2, 2021 -- Arrive in Tel Aviv:
Your pilgrimage begins as you depart the USA on an overnight flight. You will be welcomed at the Tel Aviv airport by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Tiberias to enjoy dinner before retiring for the night. November 3, 2021 -- The Galilee
Worship as you sail across the Sea of Galilee and visit the Ancient Boat exhibit at Nof Ginosaur. Continue to Capernaum, center of Jesus’ ministry in the Galilee. Visit the synagogue built on the site where Jesus taught (Matt.4:13, 23) and see St. Peter’s home where his mother-in-law was healed (Matt. 8:14-17). On the Mount of Beatitudes, contemplate the “Sermon on the Mount” (Matt. 5-7) and the story of Jairus’ daughter & the woman who touched Jesus’ cloak, who were both healed by faith (Luke 8). Walk to top of Mt. Arbel and enjoy the beautiful view overlooking the Sea of Galilee. Next, stop in Magdala, once home to Mary Magdalene (Mark 16), visit a recently discovered first-century synagogue and the Women’s Atrium, dedicated to presence of women in the Gospel. November 4, 2021 -- Galilee
View Mount Carmel and recall Elijah’s dramatic victory over the prophets of Baal (I Kings 18). Follow an ancient caravan route through the Jezreel Valley to Tel Megiddo, an exciting archeological dig with layers of twenty different cities, all built on top of each other. Visit Sepphoris, the cosmopolitan Roman capital of Galilee until Herod Antipas built Tiberias. It is heralded as the traditional birthplace of Mary. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight. November 5, 2021 -- Jericho
As you stop in Jericho to view the ruins of the city conquered by Joshua (Josh. 6), learn about Rahab’s vital role in protecting Joshua’s spies (Josh. 2). Travel to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in 1947. Ascend by cable car to the traditional site of the Temptation of Jesus (Matt. 4:1-11). Travel to the Baptismal Site at Kasr el Yehud, where many believe that Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist (John 1). Tour the Ahava Cosmetics factory and shop for some Dead Sea Mineral products before continuing to your hotel near the Dead Sea for dinner. November 6 , 2021 -- Bible Teaching
Enjoy a day of quiet reflection as you visit the Dead Sea for a mineral laden float or enjoy some of the spa amenities your hotel has to offer. Pray, meditate and reflect on how God used the women of the Bible. Enjoy an extended time of Bible teaching. |
November 7,2021 -- Wilderness
Enjoy a visit to intriguing Masada, the spectacular mountaintop fortress built by Herod that later became the final tragic stronghold of the Jewish rebellion against the Romans. Ride the cable car to the top to explore the fortress and look down upon the remains of the Roman camps and siege ramp below. After lunch, enjoy time at the Ein Gedi National Park. The oasis of Ein Gedi on the shore of the Dead Sea combines a wild, natural setting, history and archaeology. Spend one more night at your Dead Sea hotel. November 8,2021 -- Jerusalem
Today you will visit a Bedouin Tent where you will learn about the art of food preparation and/or clothes making as you think about Sarah living in the wilderness with Abraham (Genesis 12). Travel along the Jericho Road on the way to Bethany to view the Tomb of Lazarus and to remember Mary and Martha his sisters (Luke 10; John 11). Overlook the City of Jerusalem at Mt. Scopus, then visit the Israel Museum where you will see the Model City of Jerusalem and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Check in to your Jerusalem hotel in time for dinner. November 9,2021 -- Jerusalem and Shepherd's Fields
Explore the poignant exhibits of Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial. Gaze out over Shepherds’ Field before returning to Jerusalem. In the fields nearby humble Ruth worked as a gleaner to support her mother-in-law Naomi, and where she met Boaz (Book of Ruth). View the Old City of Jerusalem from the Mt. of Olives. Follow in Christ’s steps on the Via Dolorosa (“the Way of the Cross”) to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane and envision the scenes of the night before Jesus’ crucifixion (Matt. 26:36-44). Visit sites on your own, shop in Old City or rest and relax as you have a day at leisure in Jerusalem. November 11, 2021 -- Jerusalem & the Old City
View the Pool of Bethesda where Jesus performed the Sabbath miracle (John 5:1-31). Sing a hymn in the Church of St. Anne and experience its rich acoustics. Visit Herod’s Antonia Fortress, where Jesus appeared before Pontius Pilate (Luke 23:1). Continue to Mount Zion to visit the House of the High Priest Caiaphas, where some say Jesus was questioned the night of His betrayal (Matt. 26:57). Explore ancient Jerusalem at the Teaching Steps and the Western Wall. Visit the Garden Tomb for a time of reflection and communion. Enjoy dinner (additional cost) tonight at a local restaurant before transferring to the airport for your return flight. November 12, 2021
